ShockerFest Screening
October was a busy month, as The Transfiguration of Harold Maines made it's festival debut at ShockerFest in Modesto, California. The film screened to an audience of around 40 people and received a lot of enthusiastically positive feedback. "I liked the film a lot," said Joel Hagen, an artist whose work was on display during the festival, "I think I was most impressed with the way the characters and dialogue 'rang true.'" Director Jared Johnson, actor Doug Nimrick and production assistant David McRell were available after the showing to answer questions. The three fielded questions about their inspiration for the film, the creation process and the film's future plans.
Jared and Doug also had the opportunity to attend classes which would enhance their filmmaking skills. "We particuliarly enjoyed the script writing class by Dan Decker and the make-up class Rick Gonzalez (Day of the Dead)," said Jared,

"They really focused on independent filmmaking and gave some great tips." ShockerFest was a very exciting opportunity to share our work with appreciative audiences and fellow filmmakers. Dave Bogard, a producer who was in attendance with his own transformation themed film, "The Kiss", said of Harold Maines, "I was thoroughly impressed with the film. It had a documentary style with lots of humor that I haven't seen in a short film before. I highly recommend it."
