Harold Goes To Nashville
In November of last year, Jared Johnson and a rough cut of "The Transfiguration of Harold Maines" travelled to Nashville, TN. There they visited Mr. Lemons Studio, the home of the talented singer, songwriter and producer responsible for the movie's soundtrack: Neilson Hubbard. During their three days together, the two creatives laid down the music bed, filled out the soundtrack with ambient noises, and fixed a few pops and squeaks in the original recordings that were driving Jared batty. While working, Neilson was also cast as the voice of a deer that Harold hears speak and Brian Bequette lent his deep vocal talents to the role of Harold's scolding father. Neilson's talent became particuliarly apparent as he "orchestrated" Harold's final transformation. This rich arrangement of noises adds a real emotional weight to this powerful moment.
Also while in Nashville, Neilson and his wife Cameron took Jared out to experience some local cuisine and to a get taste of the local music scene. The three visited 3rd and Lindsley where Jared heard the amazing vocal talents of Jeremy Lister who's album Nielson had previously recorded. Also at this even was Kate York , a singer/songwriter from Nashville that Neilson is currently producing. Mr. Lemons Studio is quickly making its mark on Nashville, and Midsummer Movies is very grateful to have their artistic sensibilities leant to this project.
