Sweet Soul Music
If images are the flesh of a film, and the scipt its mind, then music is its soul. And there are few artists better equipped to craft this soul than Jackson, MS native, Neilson Hubbard. With two solo albums currently in distribution and a third one on the way, and having just finished production on a gospel album, Midsummer Movies is lucky to have Neilson take the time to produce a soundtrack for The Transfiguation of Harold Maines. The tracks he's providing range from fun to Angelo Badalamenti-esque mysteriousness, perfect for a film about a man who transforms himself into a horse. Below is a fun example from the music he has already scored. Also performing on this track (providing whistles and clucks) are Neilson's wife Cameron and friends of the project Brian and Kristen Clark. Please visit Neilson's website, read his bio and check out his new album "Sing Into Me", to be released by Parasol Records on March 11, 2003.
