Getting the Family Together
On July 21st, the family of Harold Maines met for the first time. Elizabeth Rich (Barbara Maines) had already spent the day with us in June, inventing her role as the wife of a man who bacame a horse. Troy Sabourin, who had spent many evenings discussing the his role as Harold Maines with the director, Jared Johnson, stepped into character for the first time to pose for some family portraits. Christine Malone, who is just coming off a great year in her grade school theater, also was on the set for the first time as Mar Maines. Finally, Elijah Sabourin, Troy's son, filled out the family as Winnie Maines. The photos were taken at Stuart-Rogers Photography by photographer Eric Meng. Eric did a masterful job and delivered some great images.
The cast then moved on to Lincoln Park Zoo to take some more candid pictures of the family. With the help of Elizabeth, who had recently taught acting classes for kids at Lincoln Park Zoo, the group made their way around rather efficiently. It was only late in the day that we discovered that Elizabeth, while working at the zoo, had developed quite the relationship with a certain gibbon. (See picture to left.)
