 Midsummer Movies is the independent film production company of Jared W. Johnson. While earning his Bachelor's degree in Communications at Wheaton College, Jared was a member of the acting troop "Workout" and assisted in theatrical productions at the Arena Theater. Jared also headed two Student Union "Class Films," which earned awards including Best Picture, Best Editing, Best Actress and Best Cinematography. During these same years, Jared produced a rock album for The Hestons and edited a James Bond fan film entitled The Eye of the Serpent for Crunchy Frog Productions. Upon graduation in 1999, Jared was hired at 20/20 Communications, Inc. as a Media 100 Editor.
Within the year, Jared was promoted to Creative Services, taking on additional duties that included various forms of print, multimedia, and internet design. By the end of his tunure with 20/20 Jared was Assistant Producer and tackling new tasks such as writing scripts, organizing shoots and heading up production crews. Also during his stay at 20/20, Jared Johnson and Midsummer Movies produced their first short film, The Trasnfiguration of Harold Maines, which premiered at ShockerFest in Modesto, CA and is now available on DVD. He also directed a music video for Strays Don't Sleep and worked independently on the documentary Unauthorized And Proud Of It.
